Bio Agri Mix
Bio Agri Mix (“BAM”) is a leader in the animal health industry in Canada. BAM focuses on pharmaceuticals for animal disease management primarily through the manufacture and sale of antibiotics for use in feed. For more than 40 years, BAM has engaged in the research, development, manufacturing and marketing of pharmaceuticals for production animals and has supplied feedmills and producers with the quality products they need to improve animal health.
Birch Hill developed a relationship with one of the founders and made a majority investment in March 2006. Our investment thesis centered around the opportunity to invest in a market leader with high market share in an industry with significant barriers to entry and multiple opportunities for growth, including new product launches and geographic expansion.
ROI – During Birch Hill’s ownership BAM delivered an average annual ROE of 24% on a very consistent basis over 15 years. Birch Hill and the founder exited in 2021.
